Hello Everyone and welcome. The date is getting closer to my release of Enticed by Love. Today I am sharing with you my first post from December 2019. Enjoy.
Today I have great news! I am totally excited to share my new book with you, Enticed by Love! Look for an early 2020 release.
I originally started the story back in late 2011. I created two detailed outlines. More plot than necessary resulted, so it was cut down considerably. It wasn’t difficult, but it got me thinking about the direction of the story and I went for it.
Enticed by Love is about an older lesbian, Henrietta, who is haunted by a past love while another one waits on the horizon. She is her own person and doesn’t follow the rules, hence has caused suspicion with certain people. She has a loving heart and cares much for others. She wants to do the right thing.
Along the way, some secrets are revealed so be prepared to be surprised. The story is LGBTQ and it has romance, drama, paranormal, esp and a mystery.
My main supporting character is sexy and very intelligent. She is independent and not afraid to go into the unknown. I chose her because she is strong with soft features and speaks her truth. Her kindness is addicting and she gets what she wants. You are going to love her!
I have an excerpt I’d like to share from Enticed by Love.

At 7:10 p.m., the doorbell rang. Henrietta’s heart sped up. She took a deep breath to ground herself. Putting her hands on the door, she slowly opened it.
A tall dark-haired twenty-something woman with an olive complexion stood in front of her. She wore hi-rise flared jeans, a halter top, and sandals. She had on dark makeup and red lipstick. In a deep voice and with a slight accent, she said, “Good evening, my friend.”
Henrietta stopped for a second and thought.
I’ve seen this woman.
Then she smiled and invited her in. She stopped in the foyer and said, “Wow, I love your house. It’s so enchanting.” The accent in her voice was more noticeable.
“I’ve lived here all my life and love it here,” Henrietta said. “But I don’t own it.”
“Well, you never can tell. Maybe one day you will.”
Henrietta felt a twinge in her chest. “You never told me your name on the phone.”
“Sophia.”
“Welcome, I’m Henrietta.”
Henrietta and Sophia sat down at the table in the parlor. Henrietta shuffled her deck of cards and spread them out. “What would you like to work on tonight?”
Sophia widened her big brown eyes and was silent for a moment. Gazing at Henrietta, she replied, “Am I going to be a spinster for the rest of my life?”
This request caught Henrietta by surprise. Before she asked Sophia to pick cards, she replied warmly, “Oh, I don’t have to be a psychic to know that this is not going to happen. You’re young and have your entire life ahead of you. I’m sorry you feel this way. I have a good ear if you’d like to talk.”
Sophia gave Henrietta a seductive smile and said, “Why don’t you tell me about love?”

I chose an older lesbian because there is little literature now in this sub-genre and I want to share this story. The message I want to show that it is never too late to fall in love or pursue your dreams. As long as you believe this is possible, it will happen.
I’ve included paranormal and ESP because these topics interest me a great deal. Henrietta possesses special gifts in which I go into detail. I want to portray her as a bit mysterious, but very wise. She is a responsible woman and wishes no harm to anyone.
The plot came to me during the summer of 2018 and I wrote it in six weeks. It was fun doing what I like doing best, freewriting. The words just flew out of my fingertips and onto the computer screen. It was interesting finding out my word count for any day. I enjoyed developing the characters and to me, they are very real.
However, the editing process was very long. I sent it off to a few beta readers (Domina Alexandra, Nico J. Genes and Alex Magness). I really appreciate all their help and their feedback is priceless. I highly recommend beta readers as they give you a reader’s point of view. They also tell you things such as shortening an information dump or that something is inconsistent.
Then I hired editor Christa Bretz to do the final edit before I sent it off to my publisher. Christa is a retired English teacher and she taught me a lot about how to edit. Christa is also a personal friend of mine. I thank you for your help. I am very grateful!
The process is going very fast now and my head is spinning. It seems like it was yesterday when the idea came to me and now it is almost here. I do believe this is happening now!
A lot of good is coming my way and I’m excited about life. I have to say this year has been giving to me and I appreciate it all. Last winter, I took a class that helped me get in deeper touch with myself and I really feel the benefits from it. I am looking forward to what good 2020 is bringing.
Thank you for stopping by today. Be sure to come back next week when author Char Dafoe (author of Kitten) will be my guest.
Until Next Time,
Lynn
