Today I am focusing on some recent books I have read. I have not read as much this year because I have been busy promoting my new book, Enticed by Love as well as taking a German class. I’m taking the class for self-development and the fact that I lived in Germany for two years when I was in high school.

We need to work with each other to increase sales for LGBTQ books, including Lesfic. I like to support other authors because they are great storytellers.  I have read some amazing stories. It takes a lot to write and promote a book, as I have found and I want to be supportive. I enjoy books that have paranormal, mystery, coziness, drama, and romance.

Along the left side of this page, I have a list of books that I enjoyed and want to share with you. Feel free to take a look. All the reviews for these books are in this blog and you can search for them in the search box just above my book list.

The first book I’d like to talk about is a favorite among many Lesfic readers – Choices by Lyn Gardner.

The story takes place in a destination where my folks took me as a child; it brought back nostalgia. The protagonist is well developed and has an array of emotions. I enjoyed the paranormal aspect of this story since that subject interests me a great deal. A special element in the story has cleaver ways of exposing itself, which is really cool.

The romance is really hot and there are aspects that are really tender. I love the story behind the legendary character. Her presence brought a timeless feeling. There is plenty of drama in this story and the descriptions are true to the actual place.

The second book is Beyond the Checkpoint by Addison M. Conley. This story is a military romance that takes place in both Afganistan and the United States. The story shows the difficulties lesbian couples have to deal with while deployed and at home. The author clearly portrays the separate lives of both protagonists. I could understand how they felt having to live two lives.

I felt the character development was strong and interesting. Halfway through the story is a twist that changes everything for the two women. The romance is exciting.

The third book is One Small Step by MA Binfield. This story takes place in England, another place I have visited. It starts out in December which adds a cozy touch to the story.

I love the interactions of the characters. One of the protagonists stole my heart with her humor and her love for women’s football. The other character is a bit of a loner but is very sweet. I really admire the courageousness she shows in the book.

I feel that both characters are well developed and interesting. I love the chemistry between them. One of their ex’s comes into play causing some really heavy drama.
